Tips for Mom
Did you know that dental problems can occur during pregnancy? Make sure that if you make an appointment, you let them know you are pregnant as to avoid x-rays coming in contact with your developing baby.

Weight Gain is important during pregnancy and many women may watch it closely. While you need to be gaining weight in pregnancy, many Dr/midwives will try to monitor your gain and keep it to a minimum (usually around 20-30 pounds). Remember that the more you put on, the harder it is to take off at the end. Here is a breakdown of the way weight is normally distributed, totaling approximately 30pounds. Remember that every pregnancy is different and your baby and body could weigh more or less than the average.:

Maternal Weight:
Uterus 2.39 lbs
Breasts 1.0
Blood 3.09
Water 4.15
Fat 8.27
Subtotal 18.89
Fetal Weight:
Fetus 7.5
Placenta 1.6
Amniotic Fluid 1.97
Subtotal 11.07
Total 29.96
